Jen Turnbow

Journal of life, walking to the mailbox, through joy, pain and every moment in between.

Writer - Creator - Speaker - Boss - Wife - Mom

My Story

I am a writer. It took my a long time to admit that I am a writer. Jen is a native North Dakotan, growing up on a farm 14 miles south of New Salem.

Jen attended the University of Idaho, obtaining a bachelor's degree in environmental science. She also has a master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Today, she lives in Bismarck, ND with her husband, Bryan, their son, and their dog!

Her grandmother was a massive influence on her life. She was a beautiful writer...writing for herself, her family, her friends. When Jen was three years-old, her grandmother wrote a poem, To The Mailbox, about their daily walks to the mailbox.

When her grandmother passed, she knew she had to do two things:

  • Share her gift.
  • Share mine.

To The Mailbox is about a journey. It's about trying to overcome fear, judgement and limiting beliefs. It's about crashing into the authentic self. It is also an ode to love.

Today is the day, for living your only one. Forget yesterday, tomorrow is yet to come. Today is the day, put on a friendly smile. Let’s start accomplishing something worthwhile.
